Usually, MS products recognise the alias and link it to the main ID when they need me to sign in. When I sign in to MS office products, I have to use the main ID. This is an alias of my main ID, which is just a number, like *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. In my organisation, my regular email address is a "human readable" one with my name.
